Flying To/From Costa Rica:
You can choose to fly into San jose (SJO) the capital of Costa Rica or Liberia (LIR) . It is easier to fly into San jose but sometimes flights to Liberia are a lot cheaper which makes it a better choice to fly here instead. From both airports it´s about the same distance to get to us but from San jose you have more options!
Departure Tax: $26 departure tax is payable at the international airport by all foreign passengers departing on international flights.
There are three ways of getting to/from Santa Teresa. On a domestic flight, a shuttle bus or the direct bus.
The closest airport to us is Tambor. Flights are 20 minutes and cost around 90 dollars. The two airlines that fly from San Jose to Tambor are Sansa and Nature Air.

Once in Tambor, expect a 45 minute taxi ride. Taxis cost approximately $50 for 1-4 people and $10 for each additional person. The two airlines that fly from San Jose to Tambor are Sansa and Nature
From San jose you can also take a shuttle to Santa Teresa. It will pick you up from your hotel or the airport and will take you directly to us. The drive is about 4-5 hours including a 1 hour ferry ride.
The price is $45 per person and it leaves at 9 am. If you would like to leave at a different time the price is $200 for a private shuttle, up to seven people.

For the more adventurous traveler there is the option to take a direct bus to Santa Teresa. It leaves from the Coca Cola bus station in San jose at 7 am and 2 pm. The drive takes 5 hours (including the one hour ferry ride). A ticket costs $10 one way.
Even though this option is a little more challenging, because you have to take a cab to the bus station, find the right bus etc. Once you´re on the bus it is a direct shot and you don´t have to worry about your luggage or changing busses.
